We have had a very fun Halloween party day! We started it off with some ghost pancakes and apple smiles for breakfast, ...then we checked in the freezer for the "ice ghosts" that we made yesterday. They were simply some paper towels that we got all wet, squeezed out, and draped over some cups and then put into the freezer. We had to keep checking on them all day yesterday to see what was happening to them! This morning we took them out and painted them! The kids discovered that, as we painted them, our ghosts began to melt! So they decided that once we were all done painting, it should be back to the freezer for our ghosts! When they were done with the paint, it was time for costumes! They were all very excited to show each other what they were going to be! :) Once they all had their costumes on, we played a few party games! First, we used our magnet wands to stir around in this bucket of both magnetic (pipe-cleaners & wiggle eyes with paper clips hot glued on the back) and non-magnetic (wooden beads & rubber bugs) items, to make some fun magnet monsters! Next, we played an "eyeball toss" game and tried to get the bouncy eye-ball in the bowl. The kids even organized their own games while I got lunch ready! :) And we had a fun Halloween lunch of mummy-dogs, banana ghosts, and (carrot)broomsticks! At snack time we decorated our own sugar cookies in Halloween shapes like pumpkins, witches, bats, and ghosts!

We were REALLY excited to see our first snowfall this morning! So we just had to bring some of it in to explore today. :) We also had lots of fun using yarn to make some great Halloween spider webs all over the house, complete with trapped bugs! It was a super fun way to do lots of planning and predicting (trying to figure out where the web would go depending on where they hooked the yarn), exercise those fine motor skills (twisting and wrapping the little bugs into the yarn web), and practice our cooperation skills by working the web over, under, and around each other! Thursday we had lots of fun playing, reading stories, and singing in our parachute fort, ...and building with magnets!
Today was finally THE day we've been waiting for! We had lots of fun on our fieldtrip to the Pumpkin Patch! |
Look what we did today! These kiddos make my day, every day! I love seeing the delight in their faces when they are proud of themselves, and the curiosity in their eyes as they explore something new. This page is where I can share a little bit of our joy each day with you! Archives
