![]() The kids have been having lots of fun the past couple of days using cardboard tubes to make their own ramps and tunnels. Several of these kiddos really love building things and it has been pretty impressive to see what they have come up with! I started them out with a few small examples so they could see how the tubes fit together and how they would fit into the fence, and a basket of little white whiffle balls to run down their ramps. They got right to work adding to my example ones, and just running the balls down them, and pretty quickly began dismantling the samples in favor of creating their very own. "Bigger, taller, longer," seemed to eventually emerge as their goal. :) They used their whole bodies to make those ramps work! They used their eyes to track the ball.... can you spot the little white ball just by following their gaze? And they showed some really great concentration, predicting, and planning skills. It was so much fun to see their determination to get the ball to run just right... ...and to see their celebration when their hard work created success!
